Nothing to install

Editing a PDF is usually a one-off job, and often an urgent one. Installing software for it — finding something, trusting it, licensing it, keeping it updated — is out of proportion to the task.

So this runs on the page you are already on. Choose the file, say what should change, look at the result, download it. Windows, macOS, Linux, a Chromebook, a tablet: it is the same tool, because it is a web page.

What happens to the file

It is uploaded so the edit can be done, held while you work on it, and deleted half an hour later. Your upload is never written over — every result is a new document — and nothing is passed to any other service. There is more detail on the privacy page.

Your page stays as it is

Most editors, online or installed, read the page and produce a new document that resembles it. This one changes the drawing instructions your file already contains, using the font already embedded in it, and then checks that nothing outside your edit moved. How that works.

Questions

Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Choosing a file, typing the change and downloading the result all work on a phone, though a full document page is cramped on a small screen.
Do I need to install anything?
No. There is nothing to download, no extension and no plugin.
Which browsers work?
Any current one — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.
Is there an offline version?
Not at the moment. Editing runs on our servers, so an offline version is not available yet.
How big can the file be?
