The signature does not cover the page
Some tools flatten the whole page into an image when a signature is added, or stamp an opaque white rectangle around it that covers the signing line and the printed name underneath.
Here the image is added as its own layer on top of the page's existing content. Nothing is removed, nothing is flattened, and the text under and around it stays selectable. A PNG with a transparent background gives you the ink and nothing else.
Placing the signature
You see the page and click the spot. The box shown before you commit is the size the signature will actually be, so there is no typing of numbers and no guessing.
About digital signatures
This places a picture of a signature on the page. A cryptographic digital signature — the kind that adds a certificate and makes a document tamper-evident — is a different feature with a different purpose, and this does not add one.
The steps
Upload the document to be signed
Any PDF. It is not flattened and its text stays text.
Choose your signature image
A PNG with a transparent background is best; a photograph of ink on white paper will carry its white background with it.
Set the width and click the spot
The width is in points — 150 points is about two inches, a typical handwritten signature. The box you see is the size it will be.
Look at the page, then download
The signed page is shown to you before you download the PDF.
